This Privacy Policy describes how Collen Sengwenyane (“I”, “me”, “my”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit collensengwenyane.co.za or engage me for services. I am committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa.

  • Name, email address and phone number when you submit the contact form
  • Project details and budget information you share when enquiring about services
  • Communications via email, WhatsApp, or other channels

Information collected automatically

  • This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referral source). Google may set cookies and process data on servers outside South Africa. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and access time for security and operational purposes.
  • Local browser storage may be used for non-tracking preferences (e.g. remembering that you dismissed a tooltip).

  • To understand site usage and improve content and performance (via Google Analytics)

  • Your information is stored on secure servers.
  • I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.
  • No internet transmission is 100% secure. While I take care to protect your data, I cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

  • Enquiries are kept for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond and follow up.
  • Client project files and communications are typically retained for the duration of any ongoing engagement plus 3 years, for support and reference.

7. Your rights (POPIA)

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information I hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Object to processing of your information
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

8. Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics cookies to measure traffic and usage. These cookies help me understand which pages are useful and how visitors find the site. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

Standard browser local storage may also be used for site preferences (e.g. remembering you dismissed the WhatsApp tooltip). No personal information is stored in local storage.

This site links to external services like GitHub, LinkedIn, Google Play, Google Analytics, and WhatsApp. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. Please review their privacy policies separately.

10. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 18, and I do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through this site or by direct contact where appropriate.
